Region Convention

This year's Region Convention will focus on "No Quick Fixes" There are no quick fixes for the church. Our speakers will challenge and encourage us that there are "No Quick Fixes" to the church, missions, or discipleship.

Our theme verses are from Romans 5:3-5 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. These words from Paul remind us that even though there are "No Quick Fixes" it is the long journey that helps us develop endurance, character, and gives us our confident hope in salvation and God's love. It is the difficulties that shape us not the easy path.

Enclosed here are several promotional materials for you to download and print. Your local church will be receiving printed versions in the mail soon. Register early for the convention. Register early to reserve your spot on the bus. And register early to make sure you get a seat as we honor for the first time our volunteers of the year.

Longer version of stuff you need to know about Mission Summit
Individual registration is now open for those interested in attending the Mission Summit (formerly Biennial) of American Baptist Churches USA in Portland, OR June 30-July 2. Information about the event can be found at the event website, www.americanbaptists2017.com. This includes a Schedule at a Glance, as well as information about registration, speakers, hotels, travel, learning opportunities, the Mission Summit Conversations, the Orientation to American Baptist Life, and Frequently Asked Questions, among other resources.

You can also register your church as a sponsor today and get individual registration discounts!
When a church is registered as a sponsor, individuals from the church are able to attend at a discounted rate, saving at least $100 off the regular rate to register for the Biennial Mission Summit. This is the most cost effective way for church members to register when three or more members from a Church Sponsor will attend the event. If a church is not a Sponsor, church members will pay a higher individual registration fee for the event.

Remember, all individuals are invited to attend the event - it is not just for pastors! The theme of the 2017 Biennial Mission Summit is "Connect!" and we want to connect with local church members as well as leadership!
